Pasco County is located on the west coast of Florida just north of Tampa. As of the 2010 census, the population was 464,697. Its county seat is Dade City, and its largest city is New Port Richey. The county is named for Samuel Pasco. Pasco County occupies 868 square miles and the county seat is Dade City.

Pasco County has many public parks and preserves where residents can enjoy the natural settings of “old Florida” including Werner Boyce Salt Springs State Park, Anclote Key, Eagle Point Park, Key Vista Nature Park, Oelsner Indian Mound, Crews Lake Wilderness Park, Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park, Withlacoochee River Park, James E. Grey Preserve, and The Suncoast Trail. Other attractions include St. Leo Abby and West Pasco Historical Society Museum and Library.

Pasco is also home to Pasco-Hernando-State College, St. Leo University, Trinity College, Rasmussen College, and F.K Marchman Technical Education Center.

New Port Richey is nestled along the banks of the Pithlachascotee River, and is the largest city in Pasco County featuring a historic downtown with shops, restaurants and beautiful Spanish-revival architecture.

New Port Richey was a hub for the rich and famous in the Roaring 20s. Celebrities like Shirley Temple, Greta Garbo and Charlie Chaplin came to Florida for the great weather and glamorous parties.

Built in 1926, the Richey Suncoast Theatre has been restored to its glorious splendor and features excellent stage productions.

Just West of Dade City on the shores of Lake Jovita sits a tiny town with a big history. St. Leo was founded in the late 1800s by Benedictine Monks and nuns, who built a monastery, a school and a church, today you can tour the Holy Name Monastery, the St. Leo Abbey and St. Leo University to see many of the original buildings from the town's founding.

Don’t miss out on the nearby Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. Even the golf course has a history. The original Lake Jovita Golf Course opened in 1926.

Zephyrhills in eastern Pasco County is the City of Pure Water and the home of Sky Dive City one of the world's premier drop zones, which attracts sky divers from around the globe.

Hudson is home to Hudson Beach. A great spot to charter a boat for fishing, diving or just sight-seeing, Hudson Beach is yet another hidden gem off US 19 in Pasco County.
